Job summary

KEYS Academy, supported by Health Connect America, in Virginia seeks a licensed Special Education teacher to deliver structured, trauma‑informed instruction aligned to SOLs and individual IEP goals. You will lead data‑driven instruction for students with emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs in small classrooms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Active Virginia teaching license in Special Education (license eligible candidates accepted).
• Endorsement in Emotional Disabilities (ED) or SPED endorsement required.
• Must maintain licensure and required certifications throughout employment.
• Strong knowledge of Special Education law and practices, IEP development, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lesson plans aligned to SOLs and individual IEP goals.
• Differentiate instruction to meet varied academic, behavioral, communication, and sensory needs.
• Embed communication development and social‑emotional learning into daily lessons.
• Utilize online platforms Courseware, EXACT Path, and LEXIA, plus Wilson Reading Systems.
• Collaborate with families, staff, and related services to support student success.
• Maintain structured master classroom schedule and effective debriefing practices with support staff.
