Job summary

Health Connect America is seeking a licensed Special Education teacher for KEYS Academy in Virginia. You will design and deliver individualized instruction aligned to each student’s IEP goals, working under the School Director to foster safety, dignity, and opportunity in a trauma‑informed setting.

The role emphasizes data‑driven instruction, collaboration with families and support staff, and adherence to SOLs and behavioral supports within small classrooms serving at‑risk students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Active Virginia teaching license in Special Education.
• Endorsement in Emotional Disabilities (ED) or related SPED endorsement.
• Strong knowledge of Special Education law and practices, IEP development, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver instruction aligned to SOLs and individual IEP goals.
• Differentiate instruction for varied academic, behavioral, communication, and sensory needs.
• Implement evidence-based teaching strategies and positive behavioral supports.
• Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and progress documentation.
• Collaborate with families, administrators, and related staff to support student success.
