Job summary

KEYS Academy, supported by Health Connect America, seeks a licensed Special Education teacher to lead a trauma-informed classroom aligned to Virginia SOLs. You will design and deliver individualized instruction, focusing on academic growth, social-emotional development, and communication skills for students with diverse needs.

You will implement the KEYS for a Big Life Curriculum, collaborate with families and staff, and maintain thorough progress data to guide instruction and ensure compliant

Qualifications

• Active Virginia Special Education teaching license required.
• Experience with IEPs and case management.
• Ability to implement SOL-aligned instruction.
• Experience with trauma-informed classroom practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead a structured, trauma-informed classroom aligned to SOLs.
• Differentiate instruction for varied academic, behavioral, communication, and sensory needs.
• Implement evidence-based teaching strategies and SEL supports.
• Design instruction around IEP goals and KEYS curriculum.
• Collaborate with families, staff, and administrators to support student progress.
• Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and progress documentation.
