Job summary

KEYS Academy, supported by Health Connect America, seeks a licensed Special Education teacher to lead a trauma‑informed classroom aligned to Virginia SOLs and individual IEP goals. You will deliver individualized instruction, coordinate with families and support staff, and document progress in a structured setting.

The role emphasizes data-driven instruction, collaboration with School Director, and integration of KEYS for a Big Life Curriculum to promote safety, dignity, and opportunity.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Special Education law and IEP compliance.
• Ability to analyze student data and adjust instruction.
• Strong classroom management and structured teaching skills.
• Proficiency with educational technology and online learning platforms.
• Active Virginia teaching license in Special Education or eligible to obtain

Responsibilities

• Lead a structured, trauma‑informed classroom aligned to SOLs and individual IEP goals.
• Deliver individualized instruction and differentiate for varied needs.
• Collaborate with families, paraprofessionals, administrators, and related service providers.
• Maintain accurate attendance, progress reports, and required documentation.
• Use KEYS for a Big Life Curriculum and Social Thinking in daily instruction.
• Attend IEP meetings and participate in required trainings.
