Job summary

KEYS Academy, supported by Health Connect America, seeks a licensed Special Education teacher to lead a trauma-informed, student-centered classroom in Virginia. You will design instruction aligned to SOLs and each student’s IEP goals, implementing the KEYS for a Big Life Curriculum and Social Thinking framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
• Active Virginia teaching license in Special Education.
• Endorsement in Emotional Disabilities or SPED is required (or willing to pursue).
• Must maintain licensure and required certifications throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction aligned to SOLs and individual IEP goals.
• Differentiate instruction for varied needs including behavioral and sensory.
• Use evidence-based teaching strategies and positive behavioral supports.
• Integrate KEYS for a Big Life Curriculum and Social Thinking into daily lessons.
• Collaborate with School Director and support staff to ensure student progress.
• Maintain structured schedule and data-driven progress monitoring.
• Attend IEP meetings and communicate with families.
