Job summary

KEYS Academy, supported by Health Connect America, seeks a licensed Special Education teacher to deliver trauma-informed, data-driven instruction aligned to Virginia SOLs and each student’s IEP goals.

You will implement evidence-based teaching strategies, integrate Social Thinking and KEYS for a Big Life Curriculum, and collaborate with families and staff to support students with emotional and behavioral needs in a small classroom setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Active Virginia teaching license in Special Education required.
• Endorsement in Emotional Disabilities (ED) or SPED endorsement required.
• Must maintain licensure and required certifications throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Develop lesson plans aligned to SOLs, school curriculum and IEP goals.
• Differentiate instruction to meet varied academic and behavioral needs.
• Implement evidence-based strategies including SEL integration and positive behavioral supports.
• Embed social-emotional learning and communication development into daily lessons.
• Utilize online instructional platforms and instructional resources.
• Maintain a structured master classroom schedule and collaboration with support staff.
• Serve as case manager for assigned students and participate in IEP meetings.
