Job summary

GGI is seeking staff to monitor and assist participants in interim housing, maintaining a safe, welcoming environment and assisting with household chores. Role emphasizes trauma-informed care, de-escalation, safety, and inclusion for LGBTQ and other vulnerable communities.

Prior experience in residential settings or customer service is valued. The position supports guests through intake, daily routines, and coordination with LPNs on medication logs, with training provided to meet agency

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills and good written communication
• Excellent people skills and ability to work in a team
• 1 year experience in a residential setting and/or 2 years of customer service
• Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment and take direction
• Individuals who are formerly homeless encouraged to apply
• Ability to work in a team environment and with diverse populations
• Able to function well in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Orient guests to facility and personal areas; assist with amenities
• Create a welcoming environment for guests
• Implement trauma-informed care practices
• Utilize de-escalation skills to manage guest conflict
• Manage weekend/evening phone line
• Review arrival/departure procedures with guests and emergency exits
• Escort guests within facility buildings and grounds
• Monitor guest safety in waiting areas and residence
• Assist guests with placing items in the Hot Box
• Maintain medication logs with LPNs
• Document events and infractions accurately
• Support inclusion for LGBTQ and other at-risk communities
• Encourage cleanliness and participation in group activities
• Complete required trainings within 6 months of hire
• Assist with special projects as requested
