Job summary

Goodwill is seeking a Housing Support Associate to help monitor and assist participants in interim housing, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment. The role supports trauma-informed care, de-escalation of conflicts, and collaboration with LPNs on medication logs, while maintaining detailed shift documentation.

The position emphasizes inclusion and teamwork, with responsibilities spanning guest orientation, safety monitoring, and occasional after-hours duties to maintain smooth operations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• One year experience in a residential setting and/or two years of customer service.
• Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment and take direction.
• Individuals who are formerly homeless encouraged to apply.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Orient guests to facility and personal areas; review assignments and responsibilities; assist with amenities.
• Create a welcoming environment for guests.
• Implement trauma-informed care principles.
• Utilize de-escalation skills to manage guest conflict.
• Manage the phone line on weekend and evening shifts.
• Review arrival/departure procedures with guests, including exits and safety.
• Escort guests within facilities and grounds as needed.
• Monitor guests for safety in waiting areas and residence.
• Assist guests with placing items in Hot Box.
• Maintain medication logs with LPNs.
• Document events and incidents accurately.
• Support inclusion for LGBTQ and vulnerable communities at risk.
• Encourage cleanliness and participation in group activities.
• Complete trainings within 6 months of hire.
• Perform other duties as requested.
