Job summary

Recovery Centers of America seeks a dedicated Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) to provide direct support and supervision to patients receiving substance abuse and behavioral health services. Reporting to the Recovery Support Supervisor, you will promote safety, engagement, and therapeutic milieu within a trauma‑informed framework.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience of 1 year in behavioral health/substance use is preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
• Proficiency with technology and documentation systems; training provided.
• Familiarity with 12-step modalities and behavior modification.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient activities and complete safety checks and documentation.
• Provide direct patient care and use trauma-informed approaches.
• Assist with patients' daily schedules and activities.
• Recognize distress signals and respond to escalation.
• Assist with crisis intervention and emergency procedures as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate medical records and notes.
