Job summary

Recovery Centers of America is hiring a Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) in Maryland. You will assist patients with daily schedules, educational activities, and treatment-related tasks under clinical staff supervision, supporting recovery efforts and patient well-being.

Key duties include ensuring patient safety, facilitating activities, de-escalation, and assisting with admission, discharge, and visitation processes. Prior SUD treatment exposure and strong organization are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience of 1 year working in substance use disorder treatment is preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with technology hardware, systems and tools; training will be provided as needed.
• Familiarity with behavior modification and 12-step modality.

Responsibilities

• Monitors patient activities, provides security checks, and completes documentation.
• Participates in direct patient care including ensuring patient safety and therapeutic interaction.
• Assists in patients' daily schedule and with de-escalation.
• Handles belongings processing for new admissions and visits, including search and delivery.
• Assists patients with packing for discharge and with visitation procedures.
• Provides orientation for new patients and supports the visitation program.

Education

Associate Degree or higher in Health and Human Services Counseling

ADT-Trainee Status or CSC-AD or CAC-AD in Maryland
