Job summary

Frontier Behavioral Health in Spokane Valley is seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist to provide peer counseling, support, and recovery-focused services across clinic and community settings.

You will mentor clients to develop self-advocacy, assist with navigating health systems, and help connect individuals to education, employment and community resources. The role includes driving between sites and occasional after-hours coverage.

Qualifications

• Must self-identify as having one or more years in recovery from a mental health condition or substance use disorder.
• Certified Peer Support Specialist or Trainee Credential from WA DOH, or Trainee credential within 90 days of start date.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver's license, active car insurance, and willingness to use a personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer counseling and support to clients, parents, caregivers and community supports.
• Identify recovery-promoting services and help clients build hope and resilience.
• Mentor clients to develop self-advocacy, navigate health systems and connect to community resources.
• Provide individual and group services and assist with discharge planning and transition to the community.
