Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be a self-identified consumer of behavioral health services.
• Completion of, or eligibility to complete, the DBHR Peer Counselor training and certification requirements.
• Must complete 1,000 supervised hours as a peer counselor trainee.
• Must be eligible for registration as Agency Affiliated Counselor.
• Must have a valid driver's license and vehicle liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Lead behavioral health groups following guidelines and policies.
• Coordinate with families, caregivers and community supports.
• Crisis evaluation/intervention and documentation.
• Share lived experiences to assist clients in recovery and engagement.
