Job summary

Frontier Behavioral Health in Spokane is seeking a dedicated Peer Support Specialist to assist clients on their recovery journey. You will provide peer counseling, support, and mentoring, helping clients build self-advocacy and navigate health systems in the community and post-discharge settings.

The role requires active WA Certified Peer Support Specialist credential or Trainee status, plus a High School diploma and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must identify as having one or more years in recovery from a mental health condition, substance use disorder, or both.
• Certified Peer Support Specialist Credential from WA DOH OR: apply for Trainee credential within 90 days.
• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent; must have valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and ability to use personal vehicle for work.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer counseling and support, drawing on common experiences as a peer.
• Mentor clients to build self-advocacy skills and navigate health systems.
• Engage with clients prior to discharge from inpatient care and accompany transition to the community.
• Maintain accurate client records and required documentation in a timely, confidential manner.
• Collaborate with team members to review cases and co-facilitate groups.
• Provide after-hours coverage as schedule allows.
