Job summary

KEYS Academy in Virginia is seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional to join a supportive, trauma-informed team. You will work alongside teachers to assist with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support in structured, small-class environments.

Under the guidance of the School Director and classroom teacher, you will help implement lesson activities, reinforce IEP goals, and document student progress while maintaining safety, dignity, and strong relationships with students and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or paraprofessional coursework preferred.
• Experience with children/adolescents in education or youth-serving settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, dignified, learning-focused classroom environment.
• Assist students with routines, expectations, and positive interactions.
• Provide individualized and small-group support to reinforce academic skills.
• Support lesson activities and accommodations aligned with IEP goals.
• Utilize instructional tools and online platforms as directed by the teacher.
• Document student progress and support classroom operations.
