You will design and deliver learning programs for adults and teens living in a family shelter and for families moving into permanent housing. This role emphasizes trauma-informed approaches, practical skills, and community connections to help residents gain stability, employment readiness, and tenancy success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Education, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience with homeless populations or in residential settings.
• Experience designing and facilitating educational programming for adults and/or youth.
• Understanding of trauma-informed care and the barriers families face (housing discrimination, employment hurdles, system navigation).
• Strong group facilitation and communication with diverse individuals.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database management.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement learning tracks for adults and teens tailored to needs.
• Create trauma-informed curricula on personal care, budgeting, job search, and tenancy.
• Lead weekly life skills classes for shelter residents and housing participants.
• Facilitate teen sessions on academic success, career exploration, relationships, and planning.
• Conduct life skills assessments and build individualized plans.
• Coordinate with case managers to align programs with housing plans.
• Provide follow-up support as families transition to housing; track progress.
• Build partnerships with employers, training programs, and schools.
• Coordinate guest speakers, field trips, and resource connections (GED, job training, mental health services).
• Maintain records and report program effectiveness.
