Job summary

Bethany House Services is seeking a Shelter Operations & Training Lead in Cincinnati, OH to oversee daily shelter functions, coach staff, ensure policy compliance, and improve resident outcomes across shifts. The role requires a minimum of two years in shelter/residential services, strong leadership, trauma-informed care, and the ability to work second shift on a full-time basis.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in shelter operations, residential services, social services, or a related field.
• Leadership, lead worker, training, or coaching experience preferred.
• Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the daily operations of the shelter and assist in maintaining consistent service delivery across all shifts.
• Serve as a resource and operational support to Shelter Leads and Shelter Assistants.
• Assist with the implementation and monitoring of shelter policies, procedures, and SOPs.
• Identify operational challenges and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Support leadership coverage as needed during emergencies or staffing shortages.
• Provide ongoing coaching, guidance, and support to Shelter Leads and Shelter Assistants.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new employees.
• Conduct refresher trainings and skill-building opportunities for staff.
• Monitor adherence to shelter policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Identify training needs and communicate recommendations to the Shelter Operations Director.
