Job summary

Toole Design seeks an experienced transportation professional to lead its integrated transportation engineering and multimodal planning practice in Los Angeles, CA. This hybrid role combines practice leadership with active project delivery, reporting to the Engineering Director and coordinating with Design/Planning Directors.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of transportation engineering and multimodal planning experience.
• Proven leadership of integrated engineering and planning teams.
• PE preferred; PTOE and/or AICP credentials are a plus.
• Strong communication and business development skills.
• Ability to mentor engineers and planners to grow the practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead business development and practice planning to drive growth targets.
• Oversee financial health through project delivery and staff development.
• Collaborate with leadership to advance practice priorities and recruit talent.
• Guide training, quality control, and innovative approaches within the practice.
• Raise the practice's visibility through marketing and external engagement.
• Manage cross-disciplinary teams on major transportation projects.
