Job summary

Toole Design Group in Silver Spring, MD, seeks an experienced transportation professional to lead the integrated transportation engineering and multimodal planning practice. This senior role combines practice leadership with active project delivery and reports toEngineering Director.

The candidate will mentor engineers and planners, shape business development, and guide the technical direction while maintaining strong client relationships and growing the practice.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of success on transportation engineering and multimodal planning projects.
• Proven ability to lead integrated teams, programs, and practices.
• Commitment to technical excellence and to diverse, equitable communities.

Responsibilities

• Lead business development and practice planning in support of growth targets with regional leadership.
• Support financial health through effective project delivery, workload management, and staff development.
• Collaborate with leadership to advance practice priorities and growth goals.
• Recruit and advise on hiring to sustain local and firmwide growth.
• Advance training, innovation, and quality control across projects.
• Support marketing and raise the practice's visibility locally and nationally.
• Guide groups in traffic engineering, multimodal planning, and related specialties.
