Job summary

DS Bus Lines is seeking a Transportation Coordinator in Hudson, MA to supervise 30-60 drivers, design efficient routes, and ensure smooth daily operations across multiple regions. You will assign drivers based on skills, monitor performance, and stay responsive to client needs and guardians.

The role emphasizes safety, record-keeping, and teamwork in a busy office setting, with a schedule Monday–Friday 12pm–9pm and one rotating Saturday per month.

Qualifications

• Must have prior supervising experience.
• Must be self-motivated, show initiative, and have a strong work ethic.
• Excellent customer service skills, be detail-oriented, and like solving problems.
• Learn the programs, clients, and employees sufficiently to determine appropriate assignments.
• Enjoy working with children.
• Exhibit good technology skills; experience with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Outlook), Google Chrome, Android tablets, etc.
• Must maintain a safe driving record and driver’s license and respond to coverage needs as required.
• Must be able to work comfortably in a small and busy office environment.
• Must be able to sit, stand, stretch, reach, lift and walk during an 8-hour shift.
• Must be flexible and adaptable with ever-changing assignments.
• Schedule M-F 12pm to 9pm and 1 rotative Saturday a month

Responsibilities

• Supervise and advise 30-60 drivers and monitors.
• Develop and implement efficient routes across several regions with regard to client needs.
• Assign driver assignments reflecting knowledge and judgment regarding employee skills and performance.
• Receive, record, retrieve and deliver messages accurately; solve operational problems while maintaining cordial relations.
• Maintain and reinforce compliance with company policies through dispatch and observation; develop driver skills.
• Promote good performance through positive support and recommend reassignment or discipline as needed.
• Spend time behind the wheel to know routes, clients, drivers, and programs; provide emergency back-up for absent drivers.
• Build and maintain a positive relationship with those supervised; address challenges they face.
• Develop and maintain professional rapport with customers including guardians, programs, and client organizations.
• Maintain detailed and organized records to perform monthly billing counts.
