Job summary

US Foods seeks a Manager, Transportation to lead a safety-focused Transportation department, ensuring safe and cost-effective daily outbound shipments to customers and distribution centers. You will mentor drivers, implement policies, and maintain regulatory compliance across operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience in transportation/delivery or warehouse distribution.
• Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce.
• Experience as a driver is a plus.
• Broad knowledge of transportation/delivery operations, methods and procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication and people development skills.
• Strong understanding of DOT requirements; familiarity with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
• Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

• Lead with a safety mindset to protect associates, customers, and the public.
• Oversee and develop drivers and Transportation associates through coaching and policy training.
• Discuss performance with Sr. Transportation Managers and create improvement plans.
• Foster upward communication and motivate the team to meet department goals.
• Supervise work and productivity of drivers and clerical staff; drive engagement and adherence to US Foods values.
• Participate in interviewing and hiring Transportation personnel, and review performance.
• Monitor production goals, troubleshoot delivery issues, and ensure DOT compliance.
