Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Manager, Transportation to lead a safety‑mocused team ensuring safe, on‑time outbound shipments to customers and distribution centers. You will coach drivers and transportation staff, enforce DOT compliance, manage performance, and drive cost‑effective operations across the department.

You will partner with senior leaders to uphold US Foods values, translate data into action, and oversee both drivers and clerical staff in a dynamic distribution environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience in transportation/delivery or warehouse distribution.
• Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce.
• Experience as a driver is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead with a safety mindset to keep drivers, customers, and the public injury free.
• Oversee and develop drivers and Transportation associates through coaching and training.
• Discuss performance with Sr. Transportation Managers and address gaps with action plans.
• Create an atmosphere that encourages upward communication and motivates the team.
• Direct and supervise the work of drivers and clerical staff; drive engagement and retention.
• Participate in interviewing and hiring Transportation personnel and review performance.
• Monitor production goals; troubleshoot deliveries and ensure DOT compliance.
• Identify waste and improve processes for safer, more efficient work.
