Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Manager, Transportation to lead a safety-first Transportation department, driving safe, cost-efficient outbound shipments and high service levels across distribution centers. You will coach drivers, monitor performance, and ensure DOT compliance while building a culture that emphasizes people and safety.

You will supervise drivers and clerical staff, partner with senior leaders, and use planning tools to optimize scheduling and productivity.

Qualifications

Minimum of three years of experience in transportation/delivery or warehouse distribution.
Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce.
Strong knowledge of DOT requirements and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Lead with a safety mindset to maintain injury-free operations.
Oversee and develop drivers and Transportation associates through coaching and training.
Review performance, set improvement plans, and apply disciplinary actions when needed.
Ensure DOT compliance and safe, cost-efficient operations.
Schedule shifts and monitor productivity using planning tools (e.g., Excel).
Direct and supervise Transportation personnel and clerical staff.
