Job summary

US Foods in California is seeking a Transportation Manager to lead the Transportation department with a safety-first mindset. You will manage drivers and associates, coach on policy and procedures, and ensure safe, on-time outbound shipments to customers and other distribution centers.

The role emphasizes people leadership, DOT compliance, and cost-conscious operations. You will build high-performing teams, schedule shifts, review performance, and partner with senior managers to maintain service

Qualifications

Minimum of three years of experience in transportation/delivery or warehouse distribution required.
Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce required.
Experience as a driver a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead with a safety mindset to create a safety-first culture in the Transportation department.
Oversee and develop drivers and Transportation associates through coaching and training, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
Oversee and develop drivers and Transportation associates by discussing performance with Sr. Transportation Managers and creating improvement plans.
Direct and supervise the work and productivity of drivers and clerical staff within Transportation, driving engagement and retention.
