US Foods in La Mirada, CA is seeking a Manager, Transportation to lead a transportation team, drive safety, efficiency, and service for outbound shipments to customers and distribution centers. You will coach drivers, monitor performance, and ensure DOT compliance while managing costs and operations.

The role requires supervising transportation personnel, optimizing schedules, and maintaining high standards of accuracy and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience in transportation/delivery or warehouse distribution.
• Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce.
• Experience as a driver a plus.
• Strong leadership, communication and people development skills.
• Strong understanding of DOT requirements and regulatory knowledge.
• Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

• Lead with a safety mindset and promote a safety-first culture in the Transportation department.
• Oversee and develop drivers and Transportation associates through coaching and training.
• Supervise work and productivity of drivers and clerical staff in Transportation and implement cost-effective solutions.
• Direct hiring and performance management in coordination with Sr. Transportation Managers.
• Monitor production goals and ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction; adhere to DOT regulations.
• Schedule shifts using planning tools (e.g., Excel).
