Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Sr. Manager, Transportation to lead a safety-first, service-driven culture and ensure safe, accurate, and timely outbound shipments.

The role focuses on delivering to customers and distribution centers while maintaining a secure workplace for all team members. The position entails coaching Transportation Managers, developing drivers, monitoring performance, and aligning with DOT and OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience in transportation/delivery supervision.
• Broad knowledge of transportation/delivery operations, methods and procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication and people development skills.
• Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Achieve safety, service, and cost targets in the Transportation department.
• Oversee and develop Transportation Managers through coaching and policy training.
• Oversee and develop drivers and personnel; drive engagement and retention.
• Build high-performing teams; review staffing, performance, and disciplinary actions.
• Monitor production goals; analyze delivery issues and implement cost-efficient solutions.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and develop efficient production flow processes.
• Identify waste, improve processes, and communicate performance metrics to leadership.
• Assist in interpreting the collective bargaining agreement in union facilities as required.
