Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a Transportation Manager in Cincinnati to co-direct the Transportation Department, manage drivers, routes, and budgets, and drive safety and efficiency across operations. The role focuses on building better service, leading teams, and implementing transportation guidelines to meet on-time delivery targets.

Qualifications

• 2 years of higher education beyond GED is required
• 5-7 years of transportation supervisory/management experience
• 1-2 years of demonstrated experience in budget creation and management
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of transportation regulations
• Possessing a valid Class 1 driver's license is preferred
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word)

Responsibilities

• Manage tactical operations and strategic functions of the transportation department
• Coordinate maintenance, fueling, and repairs of vehicles
• Ensure drivers meet operating skills, training, and reporting requirements
• Manage the transportation budget
• Develop and implement transportation infrastructure and guidelines
• Collaborate with peers to drive improvements in division performance and analyze metrics
• Create efficiencies through program implementation and effective human capital management
• Identify opportunities to improve routing, back-haul revenues, and departmental results
• Maintain a safe and secure working environment and promote safety
• Foster professional growth through performance management
• Establish open communication with employees
• Ensure compliance with Core-Mark and government regulations
• Assist in personnel selection, hiring and management
