Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to oversee drivers, training, and DOT compliance. The role focuses on safe, efficient deliveries, monitoring logs, and coordinating driver information.

A hands-on leader who can manage schedules and improve routing will thrive. Responsibilities include supervising staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining vehicle documentation and safety practices across the fleet.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years transportation or related experience with knowledge of DOT and safety regulations.
• Experience operating computerized fleet management systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise drivers and training, coaching, performance management and issue resolution.
• Assist in scheduling and ensure timely deliveries and pickups; ride with drivers for training/evaluation.
• Monitor safety: vehicle safety, ramps/handcarts, seat belts and safe lifting practices; attend safety meetings.
• Coordinate driver information: license status, tickets, accidents, and risk data.
• Ensure delivery and driver paperwork: invoices, logs, DVIRs, reports, fuel tickets, deposits.
• Oversee maintenance of trucks, tractors and trailers via post-trip inspections.
• Help minimize operating expenses and optimize delivery routing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
