Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a Transportation Manager to co-direct all transportation functions, oversee drivers and routes, and drive improvements in service and efficiency. This role focuses on budgeting, safety, and regulatory compliance while aligning with company goals in a dynamic distribution operation.

The position emphasizes leadership, process development, and collaboration with peers to optimize performance and on-time delivery across North America.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 2 years of higher education required.
• 5-7 years of transportation supervisory/management experience.
• 1-2 years of demonstrated experience in budget creation and management.
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of transportation regulations.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel/Word).
• Ability to manage routing and distribution and logistics software.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead tactical and strategic operations of the transportation department.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance, fueling, and repairs.
• Ensure drivers meet operating skills, training, testing, and reporting requirements.
• Manage the transportation budget and allocate resources for on-time delivery.
• Develop transportation infrastructure and process guidelines.
• Collaborate to improve division performance and analyze key metrics.
• Drive routing efficiency and back-haul revenue improvements.
• Promote a safe working environment and manage safety programs.
• Support employee development and performance management within the department.
