Job summary

Werner Enterprises, Cedar Hill, TX, seeks a Fleet Manager to build and maintain driver relationships, addressing home time, payroll, and equipment issues using our systems and telematics.

You will partner with Dedicated Logistics Managers to optimize driver loads and coordinate with billing, safety, payroll, and other teams to keep operations on track. A Bachelor’s degree or 2–3 years in fleet management and 6–12 months supervisory experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 2–3 years fleet management or transportation experience preferred.
• Six months to one year supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to operate a computer terminal and telematics systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain driver relationships and address home time, payroll, and equipment issues using our systems and telematics.
• Partner with Dedicated and Associate Logistics Managers to optimize driver loads based on origin, destination, freight type, miles, and stops.
• Understand and adhere to customer dynamics and service expectations to improve value for the Customer and Werner.
• Interface with billing, vans, customer service, risk, safety, payroll, fuel, maintenance, and external vendors.
• Work with the Dedicated Logistics Manager or Operations Manager to maintain a full board of drivers.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Dedicated Logistics Manager.
• Maintain timely attendance according to scheduled shift.
