Job summary

Werner Enterprises, Inc. in Houston, TX seeks a Fleet Manager/Supervisor to build driver relationships, optimize loads, and coordinate with multiple departments to meet service levels.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or 2–3 years of fleet management experience, supervisory experience, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with computer terminals and satellite communications. Regular attendance and safety compliance are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Admin, Marketing or Transportation/Logistics and/or 2–3 years fleet management experience preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, management ability, and computer/satellite communications proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain driver relationships by understanding and meeting driver needs across home time, payroll, equipment issues, and other concerns.
• Partner with Dedicated and Associate Logistics Managers to optimize driver loads based on origin, destination, freight type, miles, stops, and schedules.
• Understand and align with customer dynamics and Werner’s service goals to improve value for the Customer and Werner.
• Interface with billing, vans, customer service, risk, safety, payroll, fuel, maintenance, and external vendors.
• Work with Dedicated Logistics Manager or Operations Manager to fill and maintain a full board of drivers.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Dedicated Logistics Manager.
• Maintain timely attendance according to the scheduled shift.
