Job summary

NFI is seeking a Transportation Management Logistics Planner to execute customer transportation needs at a high level, train Coordinators in best practices, and deliver excellent service to the NFI customer base.

The role reports to the Transportation Management Account Manager and/or an Operations Director, coordinating shipments, building carrier relationships, resolving issues, and generating reports upon request. This position offers a base hourly rate with a discretionary bonus opportunity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; BA/BS preferred but not required.
• 2-3 years of customer service experience.
• Supply chain software experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with good follow-up.
• Professional presentation and demeanor.
• Ability to meet/exceed time-sensitive deadlines.
• Ability to multitask and solve problems.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Basic computer skills (email/internet).
• Experience with Microsoft Excel is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manages and executes daily shipment activity for customers.
• Follows client rules, parameters, and SOPs.
• Establishes and refines standard operating procedures.
• Responds to client requests and inquiries promptly.
• Builds relationships with supply chain, warehouse, coordinators, and customer service contacts.
• Resolves client issues quickly and efficiently.
• Manages shipment routing guides and carrier communications.
• Collaborates with brokerage account management and carrier sales.
• Schedules appointments and tracks shipments.
• Performs intermediate shipment optimization activities.
• Generates reports on request.
• Manages shipment exception process and claims support.
• Assists with freight bill audits and inquiries.
