Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Manager, Transportation to lead a safety-focused Transportation department, ensuring safe and timely outbound shipments to customers and distribution centers. The role emphasizes coaching drivers, ensuring DOT compliance, and driving cost-efficient operations.

The position requires building high-performing teams, managing shifts, and maintaining strong lines of communication with internal customers, while upholding US Foods values. Travel is expected to support operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience in transportation/delivery or warehouse distribution.
• Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce.
• Experience as a driver a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead with a safety mindset that ensures injury-free operations for associates, customers and the public.
• Oversee and develop drivers and Transportation associates through coaching, training, and performance discussions.
• Schedule shifts and manage productivity while maintaining DOT compliance.
• Direct and supervise drivers and clerical staff in the Transportation department, driving engagement and retention.
• Build high-performing teams through interviewing and hiring processes in coordination with leadership.
• Identify waste, improve processes, and implement cost-effective, legal solutions for deliveries.
• Conduct routine Safety and Driver Meetings and oversee driver qualification files.
