Job summary

Halff is seeking a Transportation Intern for its Fort Worth, TX office to support the Transportation team in Civil Engineering design, including TxDOT, city, and county roadway projects. The internship runs from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027, with hourly pay and full-time hours (40/week).

The Intern will assist in plans, specifications, cost estimates, CAD drafting, and permit applications, working with professionals and regulators to deliver transportation solutions.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil Engineering or ABET-accredited equivalent.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with teams.
• Self-motivated with good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Assist in preparation of plans, specs, and cost estimates for Transportation projects.
• Assist with drafting CAD work.
• Perform calculations and analysis for design projects.
• Assist in preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents.
• Coordinate with team members, surveyors, architects, and contractors.
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
