Job summary

Halff is actively seeking a Structural Intern for our Fort Worth, TX office. The Civil Engineering Intern will assist with Transportation design projects, including TxDOT, city, and county roadway and highway design, and will help prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates as well as CAD work.

The internship runs June 7, 2027 through August 13, 2027. Interns are paid hourly and work full-time (40 hours/week), typically 8a-5p, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree
• Great communication skills
• Solid relationship and team building skills
• Self-motivated and strong organization skills

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer
• Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Transportation projects
• Assist with drafting CAD work
• Perform calculations and analysis for design projects
• Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents
• Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies
