Job summary

Halff is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for our Transportation team in Richardson, TX. The internship runs from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027, and focuses on transportation design, including TxDOT, city, and county roadway projects, as well as CAD work and cost estimation.

You will work under a Professional Engineer, assisting in plans, specifications, cost estimates, CAD tasks, and permitting while collaborating with surveyors, architects, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Civil Engineering degree (ABET-accredited) or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Assist in preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Transportation projects.
• Assist with drafting CAD work.
• Perform calculations and analysis for design projects.
• Assist in the preparation of permit applications and regulatory documents.
• Coordinate with surveyors, architects, and contractors.
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
