Job summary

Halff is seeking a Transportation Intern for our Houston, TX office to support the Transportation team. The Civil Engineering Intern will help design roadway projects, prepare plans and cost estimates, and assist CAD work. Internship runs June 7 to August 13, 2027 and is paid hourly with a 40-hour workweek.

Halff does not provide housing for internships; work typically 8a-5p, Monday through Friday. Emphasis on collaboration with surveyors, architects, and contractors and client/agency meetings.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or ABET-accredited equivalent.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated with strong organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Assist in preparation of plans, specifications and cost estimates for Transportation projects.
• Assist with drafting CAD work.
• Perform calculations and analysis for design projects.
• Assist in preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents.
• Coordinate with surveyors, architects, and contractors.
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
