Job summary

Halff, a full-service infrastructure consulting firm, seeks a Transportation Intern for the Austin, TX office. The Civil Engineering Intern will assist in transportation design, prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates, and support CAD drafting on TxDOT and local projects.

The internship runs June 7 to August 13, 2027 and offers hourly pay for full-time hours. You will design civil projects under supervision, coordinate with surveyors and contractors, attend client and regulatory

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil Engineering or ABET-accredited equivalent.
Great communication skills.
Solid relationship and team-building skills.
Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Design civil engineering projects under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
Assist in preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Transportation projects.
Assist with drafting CAD work.
Perform calculations and analysis for design projects.
Assist in preparation of permit applications and regulatory documents.
Coordinate with team members, surveyors, architects and contractors.
Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
