Job summary

Halff is seeking a Structural Intern for our Richardson, TX office to support transportation design projects, including TxDOT and local roadway work.

You will assist in preparing plans and cost estimates, perform CAD tasks, and collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and contractors. This internship runs June 7 to August 13, 2027, offers 40 hours/week, and pays hourly with no housing provided. You will gain hands-on experience in design calculations and permit processes in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or ABET-equivalent.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated with solid organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design civil projects under supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Assist in preparing plans, specs, and cost estimates for Transportation projects.
• Assist with drafting CAD work and perform design calculations.
• Assist in permit applications and regulatory documents.
• Coordinate with surveyors, architects, and contractors.
• Attend client and regulatory meetings.
