Job summary

BKF is hiring a Construction Inspector to execute onsite inspections ensuring the project complies with contract requirements and permits. The role involves inspecting pipelines, water mains, sewers, lift stations, and treatment plants to verify conformance with plans.

Responsibilities include advising engineers, reviewing submittals, sampling materials, and maintaining records. Requires a college degree or 5+ years in related field and a California driver’s license.

Qualifications

• College degree or minimum 5 years’ work experience in related field.
• Valid California Class C driver’s license and an acceptable driver’s record are required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect a variety of construction including repair of pipelines, water mains, sewers, lift stations, and treatment plants.
• Advises Resident Engineer or Agency Project Manager and informs contractors of any variances from approved plans and specifications.
• Takes samples of materials, prepares test specimens, and assist in conducting field tests, or refers samples for laboratory analysis.
• Checks the location of public utilities to avoid interference with construction work.
• Assists PM in review of project submittals, RFI’s, and CCO’s.
• Verifies acceptability of material incorporated into the project by Certificates of Compliance, shop drawings, and test reports.
• Maintains material and inspection records.
• Maintains a daily diary, photo log, contract item quantities.
• Other duties as assigned.
