Apex Engineering Group in Minnesota/North Dakota region offers flexible hybrid opportunities across multiple offices. The Engineering Technician role focuses on Transportation projects, providing CADD and field support for highway, urban roadway, and municipal work.

You will collaborate in a team, learn design standards, and may serve as a resident project representative in the field. The position requires a technical degree or diploma and AutoCAD/Civil 3D proficiency, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• A 2-year Associates Degree in Engineering Technology or a Technical Degree in Drafting is highly desirable (experience accepted).
• A minimum of 2-5 years of experience preferred.
• Working knowledge and willingness to become proficient in AutoCAD/Civil-3D, Bentley OpenRoads Designer, and MicroStation Connect.
• Experience with Google SketchUp Pro or ARCMap GIS is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows/Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is required.
• Must be willing to travel and interact in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed dimensional drawings and design layouts using CADD software.
• Support project managers and engineers in development of plans and specs.
• Calculate dimensions, quantities, and profiles for roadways and utilities.
• Document construction progress and input data into field records.
