Apex Engineering Group, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technician to support Transportation projects with CADD drafting and field assignments. The role offers flexible and hybrid work options across multiple offices (Fargo, Bismarck, Dickinson, Minot, and others).

The technician will collaborate with Project Managers and Lead Technicians to develop plans and gather field data. Primary duties include creating detailed drawings in AutoCAD/MicroStation, performing quantities, and assisting in

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-year Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Drafting highly desirable.
• 2–5 years of experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel and spend time out of town.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil-3D, Bentley OpenRoads Designer, and MicroStation.
• Experience with GIS tools like Google SketchUp and ARCMap GIS.
• Proficient with Microsoft Windows/Office products.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed dimensional drawings and design layouts using CADD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation).
• Assist Project Managers and Engineers in developing project plans and specs.
• Calculate dimensions, square footage, and material quantities for highway and municipal projects.
• Learn and apply CADD standards and client requirements.
• Potentially serve as resident project representative (RPR) in construction.
• Communicate with contractors and document construction progress.
