Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Transport Network Engineer to sustain and secure DoD networks at Scott AFB, IL. The role covers design, deployment, incident management, and performance analysis across CIENA, Cisco, and related transport platforms.

Candidates should hold an active Secret clearance, DoD 8750 IAT II or Security+ CE, and a BS degree with 2–4 years of relevant experience. The position requires on-site work and strict adherence to DoD guidelines.

Qualifications

Active Secret security clearance.
BS degree with 2–4 years of relevant experience or MS with less experience.
Experience with Optical transport platforms and network troubleshooting.
Exposure to DWDM/SONET and cryptographic systems.
Experience with ServiceNow ticketing and incident management.

Responsibilities

Design and engineer transport networks; develop procedures and test architecture updates.
Deploy network changes and monitor traffic impacts.
Provide engineering incident management and root-cause analysis.
Coordinate with vendors and customers to resolve problems.
Update MSS database and ServiceNow documentation.
Support maintenance windows and dispatch coordination.
Interact with Problem Coordinator and TAC for data gathering.
