Job summary

Leidos at DISA-GLOBAL (Scott AFB, IL) seeks a Transport Network Engineer to sustain, maintain and secure DoD networks. You will design and engineer transport paths, deploy hardware, and monitor traffic changes while adhering to engineering standards.

The role requires a Secret clearance, DoD 8750 IAT II or Security+ CE, and hands-on experience with Cisco/CIENA transport gear, DWDM/SONET, and incident management. This is a mission-focused position supporting DoD networks.

Qualifications

Currently possess an active Secret security clearance.
DoD 8750 certification at IAT level II or Security+ CE or equivalent.
Proficient with transport platforms including CIENA and Cisco devices.
Experience analyzing section, line, and path events on Optical networks.
Experience with end-to-end loopback testing and troubleshooting on transport networks.
Exposure to root cause analysis and restoration of Optical networks.
Experience with service providers and enterprise transport systems using CISCO/CIENA devices.
Experience with DWDM/SONET ports and protocols.

Responsibilities

Network design and engineering; deploy hardware and changes; develop procedures and flowcharts.
Provide engineering incident management escalation support and fault isolation.
Update ServiceNow tickets and provide situational awareness to customers and management.
Coordinate maintenance windows and dispatch technicians for service interruptions.
Collaborate with vendor TACs to gather data for hardware replacements.
