Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group is seeking an Engineering Project Manager - Transmission Line to lead engineering efforts across high-voltage transmission projects. The role supports project lifecycle from concept to closeout, including field visits, client interactions, and coordination with engineering and construction teams.

You will mentor staff, manage engineering service providers, develop QA standards, and ensure safety, quality and performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the electric utility industry with high voltage projects.
• BS or graduate degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• P.E. license is preferred.
• Proven track record leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering complex projects on time and budget.
• Strong technical expertise in structural, civil, or electrical engineering.
• Knowledge of utility industry processes including scheduling, contracts, and coordinating disciplines.
• Excellent business acumen and experience managing departmental budgets.
• Knowledge of project controls, estimates, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with leadership on technical goals and oversee engineering work.
• Act as technical lead through concept, preliminary engineering, detailed design, construction, and closeout phases.
• Manage performance of engineering service providers and KPIs.
• Develop and implement engineering controls and QA standards.
• Ensure internal documentation meets requirements.
• Plan staffing and resources to support growth.
• Lead and mentor engineering staff training.
• Support business development through client meetings and proposals.
• Drive innovation and efficiency in processes with new technologies.
• Foster safety, quality, and integrity in the department.
• Stay informed on industry trends and innovations and apply them to projects.
• Represent QISG at industry forums and associations.
