Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transmission EPC Principal to join our Power Delivery Practice as part of HDR's national Alternative Delivery leadership. The role focuses on leading pursuit activities, coordinating with partners, and guiding FEED, risk analysis, and design-build / EPC delivery across multiple U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil and/or Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional Engineering License.
• Project Management Professional (PMP).
• 10 years experience in related field.
• Experience building and leading engineering teams on EPC projects.
• Experience developing EPC design and construction packages.
• Experience with transmission line design, procurement and construction up to 500kV.
• Strong leadership and collaboration across remote teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Pursuit Champion / Manager on Transmission EPC projects and transition to execution teams.
• Facilitate risk analysis discussions and provide VE/constructability input.
• Lead scope, schedule, and budget development for AD projects, coordinating with land survey, geotechnical, distribution, substation, environmental, real estate and GIS staff.
• Estimate technical investments prior to Go/No-Go discussions and share risk analytics with senior leaders.
• Interface with construction contractors and subconsultants during pursuit and project execution, addressing risk and mitigation.
• Support Go/No-Go discussions, project risk assessments, SOQs, proposals and negotiations.
• Help build FEED teams and front-end engineering capacity as the AD program grows.
• Develop templates, standards, and templates for pursuit and project delivery.
