Job summary

HDR is seeking a national Transmission EPC Principal to drive pursuit strategies, scope, budget and risk management across AD delivery models. You will lead engineers and coordinate with surveying, geotechnical, GIS and environmental teams to shape FEED and project execution.

The role requires a PE license, PMP, and 10+ years in transmission design with strong leadership and communication skills. Travel up to 20% is expected across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil and/or Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional Engineering License (PE).
• Project Management Professional (PMP).
• Minimum 10 years experience in transmission design.
• Minimum 5 years building and leading engineering teams on EPC projects.
• Proficient in PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, PLS-Tower, MFAD, and LPILE.
• Experience developing EPC design and construction packages.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Pursuit Champion / Manager on Transmission EPC projects and transition to execution teams.
• Facilitate risk analysis, design routing and BOM takeoff, offer VE and constructability solutions.
• Lead scope, schedule and budget development for AD projects, coordinating with survey, geotech, GIS staff.
• Estimate investments before Go/No-Go discussions; share risk with leaders.
• Interface with contractors and subconsultants during pursuit and project delivery.
