Job summary

HDR is seeking a national Transmission EPC Principal to join our Power Delivery Practice, driving bid development, estimating, and transition from pursuit to execution with HDR’s global teams and partners.

The candidate will lead design-and-build EPC activities, manage scope, schedule, and budget, and coordinate with multiple remote teams. A PE license, 10+ years in transmission design and travel up to 20% are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil and/or Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional Engineering License.
• Project Management Professional (PMP).
• 10 years of experience in transmission design.
• 5 years leading engineering teams on EPC projects.
• Experience developing EPC design and construction packages.
• Experience in transmission line design up to 500kV.
• Ability to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Pursuit Champion / Manager on Transmission EPC projects and transition to execution.
• Lead risk analysis, routing, and bill-of-material takeoff support with partners and HDR leads.
• Develop HDR scope, schedule, and budget for AD projects and coordinate with land survey, geotech, GIS and other teams.
• Estimate technical investments for Go/No-Go discussions and share with senior leaders.
• Interface with contractors and subconsultants during pursuit and project delivery, driving risk discussions.
• Support FEED development and stand-up of project teams as AD grows.
• Create templates, standards, drawings, and processes to support EPC pursuits and projects.
