Job summary

Michels Power, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager - Transmission & Distribution to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of overhead electric transmission/distribution projects. You will drive safety, financial performance, scheduling, procurement, and subcontractor management from startup through closeout.

This role requires strong leadership, business acumen, and deep knowledge of overhead transmission construction practices. Travel up to 50% across North America is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CM, engineering, PM, business, or related field.
• 5+ years of project management experience on transmission or distribution projects.
• Experience with overhead transmission/distribution construction.
• Experience with utilities, EPCs, or utility developers.
• Strong knowledge of transmission/distribution methods and grid modernization.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, procurement, and customer relationships.
• Leadership and ability to lead customer-facing projects.
• Experience with subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency with MS Office; experience with Primavera P6, MS Project, Procore, etc.
• Excellent leadership, financial management, and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel ~50%

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of overhead transmission and distribution project execution from award to closeout.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, schedules, procurement, and financial performance.
• Develop strategies supporting safety, quality, schedule, and profitability.
• Serve as primary customer-facing representative throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate activities among utility customers, engineering, field ops, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Identify risks, schedule impacts, constructability concerns, and implement solutions.
• Ensure compliance with contracts, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Review project drawings, specs, contracts, estimates, and technical docs.
• Collaborate with Construction Managers, Superintendents, and field leadership.
