Job summary

Ameren is seeking a Contractor Services Supervisor (Transmission) to oversee vendor-based transmission line and substation construction crews, ensuring work meets contracts, safety rules, and quality standards.

This role requires 5+ years in electric transmission or heavy industry, with supervisory leadership experience. Strong planning, coordination, and stakeholder communication skills are essential; familiarity with Oracle and ArcGIS is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management-related discipline preferred.
• Five or more years of relevant experience in electric transmission or electric distribution required, OR five+ years in heavy industrial or military environment with at least three years in supervisory/leadership role.
• Journeyman line or journeyman substation experience preferred.
• Utility experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide input to project planning and design.
• Manage contractor crews engaged in construction, maintenance and inspection of electric facilities.
• Set clear expectations for safety and quality through observations and audits.
• Schedule, assign and direct work safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contracts.
• Maintain contact with contractor supervision to assess manpower, equipment, and material needs.
• Monitor project budgets and schedules to ensure on-time, on-budget completion.
• Provide budgetary cost tracking and construction timeline updates.
• Document scope changes and provide project updates as required.
• Coordinate activities with customers, contractors, stakeholders, and other departments.
• Enforce WPA, LOTO, safety rules and conduct safety observations.
• Contribute to department goals and implement cost/productivity improvements.
