Job summary

MTM Transit is seeking a Manager, Safety to lead safety initiatives at the Redding, CA location. The role ensures compliance with ADA, FTA, DOT, and client guidelines, and drives a strong safety culture across operations and maintenance teams.

Responsibilities include managing safety programs, audits, drug/alcohol compliance, and incident trend analysis, with on-call readiness and a 8–5 schedule. A Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in transit safety management are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in a related field.
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Experience in transit/paratransit safety management is required.

Responsibilities

• Implement safety programs as defined by leadership and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Manage safety culture across departments including operations, safety and maintenance.
• Lead safety meetings, SMS initiatives, and safety audits.
• Oversee drug and alcohol program reporting (DAMIS) and workers' compensation programs.
• Coordinate with leadership to deliver safety training and improve incident prevention.
